My take on the opening title design for the James Bond movie Thunderball (1965).
To create my visual effects, I rotoscoped movie footage and used a GoPro to film water texture, above and below the surface, to form displacement maps.
GoPro Footage
The base footage I captured by splashing water on a dark background. I later used displacement maps and color overlays to create effects in my title sequence.
